Nepal is the country that holds the tallest mountain in the world. It is a small landlocked country in South Asia.The capital city of Nepal is Kathmandu. It is also the most populated city in Nepal and has beautiful ancient palaces, temples, monasteries,and architectures. Nepal is one of the most popular destinations for mountaineering and adventure travelers.

Travel and Tourism in Nepal

Numerous travelers from all around the world come to explore the natural beauty of the Himalayan kingdom. There are lots of activities that can be done in Nepal. Mountain climbing, trekking, and rafting is the most popular. A lot of visitors also love bungy jumping, canon swing, and paragliding. Many tourist also visit Nepal to indulge the beautiful mountain view. There are resorts on hill stations around the valley, and wildlife national parks in Nepal.

Tourism is a major part of the country. People in Nepal are very tourist friendly and host a lot of travelers from around the world.The capital city Katmandu has restaurants and hotels almost like any western country. Most of the country remains raw and rural due to the varying topography and landscape. 

Nepal is also a very popular for Hindus and Buddhist followers. A lot of travelers come to Nepal for religious purpose. Nepal once was the only Hindu nation. There are lot of temples of gods and goddesses with major significance for Hindu’s in Nepal.

For people who follow Buddhism, Nepal is also their pilgrimage site as Buddha was born in Lumbini,Nepal. People come to Lumbini for the spiritual retreat and step the holy place where the great Buddha was born.

Geography and Climate:

The beautiful Himalayan country has eight of the world’s ten tallest mountains, including the highest mountain and point on Earth, Mount Everest called Sagarmatha. The landscape and terrain of Nepal is very diverse.The rectangular shaped country can be divided into three physiography areas from east to west and there are major rivers flowing from north to south.

The northern mountain belt of Nepal (Himalayas) border with Tibet and has Mountains. The temperate is usually cold all year long because of the altitude.
The central hilly belt of Nepal (Pahad) has beautiful hills and valleys . The temperature is usually pleasant and moderate.
The southern flat belt of Nepal (Terai)border with India is flat. the temperature is usually warm and very hot and humid in summer.
